Fibromyalgia causes generalized pain usually affecting the neck, shoulders, lower back, hips, shins, elbows or knees. There are 18 pressure points that are typically affected by the pain of fibromyalgia. The pain is usually worse in the morning. In most cases, the pain is so great that it seriously disrupts sleep. Since sound sleep is crucial for good health, anything that causes sleep disturbances must be addressed. Other possible symptoms include headaches, poor circulation, poor concentration, dizziness, numbness, tingling and gastric disturbances.
The typical Fibromyalgia patient sees eight doctors before the diagnosis is presented. As it is a syndrome, which is a series of symptoms and not a disease there are no blood tests to determine if you have Fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia presents in 6-7 times the number of women than men. It is usually associated with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (note syndrome again).
On the following pages you will learn some of the theories of the causes of Fibromyalgia and a powerful new system of care which has been getting outstanding results with Fibromyalgia patients worldwide.
Because of the many different symptoms associated with Fibromyalgia, patients generally are prescribed a plethora of drugs. The system of healthcare you are about to learn about is Drug-Free. Become Fibromyalgia-Free!

Fibromyalgia Diagnosis
1. Wide spread pain for at least 3 months' duration (this rules out viruses or traumatic insults that resolve on their own). 2. Pain in all four quadrants of the body: Right side, left side, above the waist, below the waist. 3. Pain that occurs in at least 11 of the 18 "tender" points that are specified in a Fibromyalgia exam. 4. Pain defined, in this context, as discomfort when 8 pounds of pressure are applied to the tender point.
Note: It is best to get a diagnosis from a doctor in order to rule out any possibility of other problems. |
